EverQuest Buff Timer

BuffTimer News

Final update - Feb 6 2004, 4:47 pm

I should mention that I quit playing EQ about 6 months ago, so development on this application has pretty much stopped. You can find an excellent UI-based timer at http://www.timermod.com/.

Not much progress - Sep 2 2003, 6:16 pm

I haven't forgotten about BuffTimer, but unfortunately I've lost interest in it for the time being. I'm not sure if/when 1.1.0 will be done.

1.1.0 screenshots - May 30 2003, 7:57 am

Ok, as promised, here are some screenshots of the new preferences, spell editor, and individual buff configuration dialogs from a 1.1.0 prerelease version.

Status update - May 26 2003, 5:29 pm

It's been a bit hectic lately, so things are slow-going, but I am working on BuffTimer 1.1.0, which should hopefully be done sometime in the next month or two. Some of the intended new features include more flexible buff timers (labels, individual preferences and alarms), and support for character level in spell durations. Thanks to Chronor, Malarkey, and Shadoh for all the suggestions!

I should have some screenshots of 1.1.0 up in the next few days.

BuffTimer 1.0.2 released - May 15 2003, 3:56 am

BuffTimer 1.0.2 is available for download now. This is another bug fix release:

- Improved behavior when selecting a new spell.
- Track bars are more usable with short duration spells.
- Spells.d file will now be recreated if it gets deleted.
- Fixed a bug where alarms would not go off the first time the program was run.

BuffTimer and Linux - May 11 2003, 11:19 am

Well, it seems BuffTimer runs in Wine as well, if you're running a Linux install (though it doesn't look the best).

BuffTimer 1.0.1 released - May 7 2003, 8:03 am

Version 1.0.1 of BuffTimer is now available. This version was mostly just bug fixes:

- Fixed a bug where updating the 3rd buff was changing the duration for the 1st buff.
- Fixed a bug that was not always resetting the progress and track bars correctly.
- Fixed a bug in changing the number of buffs to be viewed.
- Added better error-handling for registry settings.
- Added in support for minimum spell durations on focus items.
